Senior Associate

Archie Best qualified as a solicitor in 2011 and was promoted to senior associate solicitor at Hughes Fowler Carruthers in 2017.

Archie works in all areas of family law, and in particular on complicated financial cases, divorce, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, co-habitation agreements, matters relating to children, and international law. He often acts for clients with public profiles, occasionally in the context of press interest, and does so with discretion and sensitivity.

Archie is a competent and confident negotiator, willing and able to use lateral thinking to ensure the best outcome for his client. His clients appreciate his commitment, judgement and intelligence.

Archie works mainly with Mark Harper who describes him as “a class act”, “critical in winning cases” and “brilliant at preparing for trial”.

Archie also regularly advises at the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, delivering free legal advice to people who cannot afford a solicitor.
